Give me Deus Ex!

User Rating: 8.5 | Deus Ex: Human Revolution PS3
Deus Ex has been around for a while; With two previous series that were smashing hits, Human Revolution had to deliver and deliver it did. Deus Ex: Human Revolution takes place in the not so distant future of 2027, where science has unlocked the next human feat: Augmentation. As you find yourself introduced to this fictional world, you start off with a cut scene taking place in it's intriguing and believable world with a mysterious figure and the conspiracy unfolding in front of you. Adam Jensen (you), a security adviser and head of security for Sarif industries is the main focus of this world. As the game begins, you are introduced to many mysterious projects going on around you in the labs while walking with a scientist. As everything seems well, Murphy's law begins to happen :). You are introduced to the enemies and the conspirators while Sarif Industries is attacked. While desperately defending the corporation you eventually get schooled by one of the augmented attackers, and you get maimed in the process. After the attack takes place, Jensen is augmented by Sarif Industries to save his life. As Adam returns to work from recovering from the attack and augmentations, you find him withdrawn from the rest of the world. The game quickly picks up on a lead of the previous attack, and this is when you find yourself chasing the truth.

Human Revolution quickly captivates the player. With a well done introduction that sucks you into the story immediately, it is hard to put the controller down and not wanting to learn more of this game. There are also amazing stories to make this world more believable, from emails found, to Ebooks, and even notes, this game delivers a well thought out and believable world. The world of Human Revolution is also beautifully detailed, with many ways to get things done. You can decide whether you want to be lethal or non lethal, sneaky or direct, or even logical. There are many ways to solve a problem, and always more than one route to take. For example you can either take a sewer and avoid contact with enemies, break walls to make a different route, climb through vents and work your way around into a locked room, and etc.

Human Revolution also gives you the opportunity to customize your characters augmentations. You can make Adam more enhanced to stealth by investing to silent running and falling augs, cloaking, and even a tracking system to track enemies.
You can make him a hacker, or a jugger naught, you can also make him immune to electric attacks, or flash attacks, even from EMP grenades.
You can also customize your weapons by installing attachments like silencers, laser pointer for aiming, faster cooling system, etc. You can also customize weapons with kits that add a bigger ammo clip, more damage, faster reloads etc. There's also a large selection of weapons you can acquire by finding hidden caches, stores, and even from certain enemies. There is a large selection of everything to suit your playing needs :).

The sound in this game is also great. The voice acting of characters are well done, the sound of weapons are nice, and even explosions sound very real. However, this games animations are dated, especially the facial features and not being able to destroy many things in the environment. Although this is pointed out, its easily overlooked by its very memorable game play. This game is not only memorable for its game play but also by its story, there are so many twists and turns that it will sometimes leave you in awe.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is an INSTANT CLASSIC.
I highly recommend those of you who like the series or that has never tried Deus Ex to play Human Revolution.
