Not a bad game, not a great one...

The best thing about HR is the story, which is complex and good elaborated, and it is also the reason (and maybe the only one) that will you keep playing till the end of the game.
However, unless you are interested in sci-fiction and atmospheres à la Blade Runner, the game could actually not be appealing.

HR is sostantially and RPG, with shooters and stealth-games elements.
Most of the time spent playing is about talking to people and recovering information.
Talking to people allows to develop the story and acquire elements fundamental for advancing in the game, it is an important task in HR, however, after some time it results annoying: dialogues are interesting, but the acting is quite flat, furthermore, you are requested to choose which answer to give or questions to pose, but in the end you don't actullay influence the development of the game by doing the wrong choice: you just have to talk till you choose the right answer/question... choice is in the end just a (fake) perception of control of the speeches.

Other information have to be taken by stealing them from PCs or offices, and unless you have a password for entering a PC or opening a door, you have to hack the system: hacking has to be done several times during the game, and this results really annoying, first of all because it is quite complicated and the mechanic is questionable: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.... anyway, hacking is for sure the less interesting part of the game.

During the game you wish for some action, as you are eager to try the different gadgets and weapons, unfortunately, when it comes to pure action, the game never reach great moments.
Action in HR is more about being stealthy and close firefights end most of the times in you being killed; this of course is a gameplay choice that force the player to be more tactical instead of jaunty, but, I personally found it not so exciting.

Talking about the graphics and audio, HR is good, nothing else.
Exploring the different environments is interesting, and cities in HR are good designed.
A negative aspect, however, is the low interaction level allowed: you just can walk through the streets and talk to people, which most of the times results in a loss of time.
You can also indiscriminately kill people: unless you are seen by security or police, you just can go away as nothing happened; even if you are seen you just have to escape till the situation returns normal...

Personally, I expected more and better action, I also expected the game to be more influenced by your choices.
HR is quite simple, you are told what to do and where to go, and then is done.

Good game, not a great one.
