A Huge Letdown for Fans of the Original DMC,
The original Devil May Cry for PS2 was a very good game, I myself did not heap as much praise on it as other games but it was very excellent none the less. I was not dying waiting for the second one but I did have the release date in mind, and was there on the first day to buy it.
People may say that this version is "Not that bad" but I am saying right now that this game was a slap in the face for me and anyone else who bought it expecting any shread of the original DMC
The Graphics seems more choppy which really suprised me, the original was very smooth to a point of being almost flawless for the beauty and detail of the game, I found that too much movement at too fast of speeds really blured the graphics and in some cases slowed it down and for users of the original you will understand that you are moving fast fairly often.
The Gameplay was similar but in all fairness Dante seemed less responsive, moves I pulled off with ease in the original required much more work at mastery almost to a point of frustration.
The Sound was much less impressive, the original was not great and this was a HUGE step backward.
The Value is the kicker, the original was short like 14 hrs short (At best) but at least it had an excellent story to go with it and some challenging aspects. DMC 2 took me roughly 8.5 hrs to finish, I died rarely and normally because of a misque in the controls and the storyline which made the original great was something very much lacking in the second one. This truly is a renter in the fullest sense of the word, most gamers could polish this off in a weekend.
