its really a total letdown.

after playing devil may cry 1 for a long time, i thought the 2nd game would be at least just as good as the first one, but its not. the first thing you notice, is the way dante (the main char) moves, its very different from the 1st game. now dante runs jumps and fight very badly compared to devil may cry 1. in the first game, dantes moves would match each other so it looks good and is fun to play. in devil may cry 2, dantes moves are very boring to look at, and there is very little difference between the moves, so you dont really want to get better at killing monsters when you cant practise on different combos. anyway, devil may cry 2 is also a very easy game, not like the 1st game. i completed devil may cry 2 with out using a single red orb (red orbs are like money, you earn them by killing the monsters. when you have enough red orbs, you can buy healing "stars" that you can activate during the gameplay to get some life energy back, or you can use the red orbs to make your weapons better, so they give more damage, and such things). the 1st game was impossible to beat without buying extra moves and healing stars, which is a great thing, because then you want to kill monsters to get more orbs to get new moves to be able to kill the monsters, which also makes the game fun to play. in devil may cry 2 you do not have to buy these extra moves or healing stars, first of all, you already have all the moves from the beginning, so you cant look forward to buy some very cool and strong move, and second, what you can use your orbs to is just to make your swords deal more damage, but even with the strongest sword, with the highest upgrade, you dont really feel a difference in the damage you do. so the whole red orb system is useless now. the graphics are okay some times, but when you see some monster very close, in a cutscene, it looks like a ps1 game, sadly, though dantes graphics are great... the sound is okay, but not anything you really notice for being good. the value: i just played the game though one time, and i didnt want to complete it again, like i wanted to complete devil may cry 1 again on harder difficulities. there's nothing new to this game at higher difficulties. you should rent it first.
