Devil May Cry 2

My first and favorite game ever. This game is universally known as a disappointment, but those people who said that don't know what their talking about.

Gameplay:This game lets you play how you want to. Go in with swords, or be smooth and take out your enemies with swords. Unlike the other games in the series this game beefs up the power of the guns. While the guns weren't completey weak in the first, in the third the guns are so weak it forces you to use the devil arms (A major fault that should be fixed with the 4th game) Plus the sword combos are really cool. Besides playing with Dante, you can play as Lucia. Lucia is a sexy demon huntress who weilds two short swords, and throwing knives. The enemies vary, from skeletons that are trapped in bird cages (more on that later), two a giant monkey. The guns are truly a diverse cast. From Dante's signature handguns, to rocket launcher, they all are fun to wield. Lucia always has throwing knives but they do different things. The swords while having the same moves (different moves for each character) have different stats, making each useful. With the DT from the first game, there is a new function to it, DDT. Desperation Devil trigger happens when your about to die, Your character becomes much more powerful, and can shoot beams out. Along with DDT, there is the amulet. It deeply expands the gameplay, what element should you fight with, this decision can come up. It also gives you extra abilities.

Graphics:There not the best (that goes to GOW) but the pack in so much detail. The streets actually look real, if itwasn't for the enemies, you may think this was a pitcure of a actual city. Each weapon does a dazzling display with every attack. The enemies are frightening, and the heroes are potrayed as almost equally as dark. This game just oozes goth. Dante' character model is just so damn sexy, it's amazing.

Sound: The music is haunting and fits the mood perfectley. The voices are all great, and don't have problems with translations.

Difficulty: This is the most balanced one in the series. The first one was really hard, and the third is impossible to beat. This game is challengeing. It keep me cautious with the difficulty, and never felt like it was hard just to make you mad. The difficulty is perfect. Plus there is a Hard mode, and a DMD mode. These are comparable to DMC1.

Story:This story is told differently. Unlike DMC1 and DMC2, where the story is told upfront. The story is one you have to think about. This game is about a power hungry man trying to control the world. That man, Arius has seized a Island and turned it into a festering demon hell. People are tortured and turned into demons (hence the skeletons in bird cages). Dante is sent in to fix what has been wronged. On the way he meets a demon that was a rival of Sparda. Lucia's story is one of finding oneself. She is trying to find out what she truly is. The twist in her story, makes a person question if any of us are unique.

Overall: this is a great game that shouldn't be missed. Buy it, now!
