Devil May Cry Dante's Awakening Special Edition is the greatest hits version of last years Devil May Cry 3 Dante's Awkening. It brings a more managable difficulty settings to the table here and pulls together the same great experience of last years game as well as many cool and exciting new extras. The first extra that DMC3 fans will undoubtably enjoys is the ability to play through the game playing as Dante's twin brother, Vergil. Vergil is stronger than Dante from the begginning but he starts out with all of his weapons to begin with and only has one style, Dark Slayer which is really a dressed up copy of Dante's Trickster style. Vergil doesn't have guns, instead he summons ghost swords out of the air that pretty much homes in on your opponents, but still it is reccomendable that you play through the game first as Dante because with Vergil you won't feel like your getting stronger as you go along your journey. There is also really no story at all with Vergil, so this new Vergil Mode should be thought as more of a Special Edition (pun somewhat intended) rather than a whole new adventure. There other things now besides Vergil. There is a new mode called Bloody Palace that is basically just a 9,999 level survival mode but three portals open up after clearing a stage that can take 1, 10, or 100 stages up. The graphics have been retained as well as the heavy metal sound track from the last game and the smooth, complete and exceptionaly well done, but kinda tough to master fighting system is as good as ever. For the reasons given and many more I would reccomend DMC3 SE to and DMC fans or anybody looking for a good action game.
