Finally the special edition has arrived. Packed with a handful of new features, Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition is an instant success. The original Devil May Cry 3 was one of the best games I have ever played, although extremely difficult it was still very exciting. One of the first noticeable differences in this special edition is the difficulty. The main complaints of the original DMC3 was its notorious difficulty. For more satisfaction, Capcom made the special edition easier. If you had previous memory of the original, you don’t have to go through the burden of repeating Dante’s part because the special edition carries over the previous memory. This allows you to unlock Vergil right off the bat if you have already cleared the game once. That’s right you get the god himself, Vergil. Personally my favorite character, Vergil is a very powerful and fast character. Although Vergil is probably an overpowered character, I would recommend that beginners practice with Dante first. Vergil is a lot different considering he wields three devil arms and only one “fire arm” if that’s what you want to call them. What do I mean by that? Well, unlike Dante, Vergil does not use guns, he has the ability to summon “phantom swords”. These phantom swords can perform different attacks by just pressing a few buttons. Vergil also has his own fighting style, it greatly resembles Dante’s trickster but with more teleporting, making Vergil very fast. Aside from the greatest new feature in the game there are other ones like the new gold orb system. This system allows you to have infinite yellow orbs and you can purchase the gold orbs, which allow you to be reborn right where you fell. This new feature actually makes the game even easier. Capcom also threw in a new option where you can make the game go 20% faster. This option is available when you start the game, I wouldn’t recommend using it because the timing to perform combos change. They also threw in a new boss fight for those who were itching to fight Jester. I won't reveal his true identity but I will tell you that he is an annoying joker. The last new feature all DMC3 fans hoped was going to be in the original, Bloody Palace Mode. Hell yeah, this mode boosts the replay value for this game a lot. With 9,999 levels to go through you better have a lot of time and snacks. I recommend this game to all because it's a great action adventure game, you can play Vergil, the new Bloody Palace, and this game sells for only 20 bucks. That’s extremely cheap! Now that’s a great value.
