I have never played a better game other then Devil May Cry 3! This game is my absolute favorite!
The biggest thing about this game: Action, action and more ACTION! Dante is just so wicked fun to plays as! Obliviously you can transform into a devil once you can get it., but now you have four different styles to chose from: Gunslinger, Trickster, Swardmaster, and Royleguard. The style you choose determines what special moves that Dante can do. For instance, picking Trickster will enable Dante to jump off and walk on walls (with is much improved, technically, and visually form DMC 2) and do quick sprints to dodge enemy attacks. The style system works very well, and are a bit RPG-ish because with experience you can level up the 4 initial styles, which will reward you with new moves and combos, which will cause a need to play through stages multiple times to level up each style to level 3. Aside from the styles, the fighting is simply the best. New array of swords and guns to play with. And the boss battles...! Dare I say, better than God of War?!?
Graphically, MUCH BETTER THAN DMC 2! Your fighting where you should be this time, a big, dark, gritty, castle like tower! The enemies are more varied than last time and look great, especially when you shoot and slash 'em. And the small cast of four look good as well during the cut scenes, and especially when jumping, shooting and slashing. Nothing is boring and everything is in setting to DMC.
For the story, it doesn't really spoil anything if you haven't played any DMC game. This is the first in the story. You'll pretty much learn a little about Dante before his demon hunting business, learn a bit about his father and older brother, Vergil, as well as other things (I won't spoil it). The story's not really tacked on, it is a part of DMC, it's interesting kinda like an action drama movie, though you play more than watch cut scenes.
So, Devil May Cry 3 is one of, if not the best game to get for PS2 in my opinion. It's still great today even with the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii in stores. This is just a great game for a successful system.
