In his entry of Devil May Cry you get to play as three characters, V, Nero and Dante. Surprisingly, they all play great and have their own special abilities that keeps the combat rolling. The game plays like any other DMC in the series, you start a level with a cutscene, usually end with a boss and then watch another cutscene for about 20 missions. In between all that you destroy countless demons with combos and special abilities, the action hardly ever skips a beat in DMC and that doesn't change for part V. Below I will outline the different characters...
V: The easiest character to earn SSS ratings. You control a black tiger with square and a hawk or something with triangle. You sit back and watch your summons destroy enemies, charging them up for power attacks and picking them up when they're down to unleash most of your fury. When an enemy is ready to die you press O to instantly warp to them with V and finish them off. Besides these two summons you also get to fill up your special meter which when is ready you get to summon some huge goliath for a certain amount of time. All these summons can be upgrades with more skills as you progress. I had the most fun with V as he is a welcome new addition to the DMC family.
Nero: For me he was the worst character to play as. Wielding a sword and gun he is like a stripped down Dante, except for his prosthetic arm which adds more depth to his character. You can get different arm upgrades which when you press O unleashes that arms special attacks. The arms break from use and at that point you can find more or buy some with red orbs. I could never fully master Nero and therefor I thought he was the dullest of the group, although I still kicked a bunch of demon ass with Nero.
Dante: My second favorite of the three. Dante is back and more badass than he ever has been. Wielding many different types of guns, swords, staffs, motorcycles and able to change himself into his true demon form... Dante packs a serious punch in DMC. Dante has the most options than any other character between weapons and play styles that can switch up easily to focus on whatever style you prefer i.e. Gunslinger. Dante is super-powered in this game, able to string together massive combos and destroy anything that gets close to him.
DMC V is a fun game that lets you play as three different characters. Badass moves and combos makes it entertaining. However, there isn't too much new that it doesn't start to feel a little like been there done that. DMC the action never stops and this game continues the trend.
