This is one of THOSE games...
What can I say? I love a challenge. And this game poses a major one, folks.
The difficulty of the game is the real show stopper. It's not ridiculous as like, say, Ninja Gaiden, but it is a challenge that ought to be taken straight and not be thrown aside because of mistakes. This game will teach you that practice makes perfect. Learn to use the right weapons at the right time, you'll go a long way, believe me...
Also, you can tune your own style into play, even though there is no option lkike there is in the third game. I, myself, am a shtogun guy. Played through the whole thing with the big ol' 22 at my side. You can use the Ifrit gauntlets for close range... or that crazy grenade launcher and chuck enemies from afar...
The game looks really good for a five year old production. It holds up well against today's action games! Only problem is that the scenery isn't as interactive like say RE4, but you CAN break some obvious objects like suits of armor for items, but next to that, nothing more is usable.
So, the bottom line is:
Great graphics, sounds, replay value... not to mention the rock-bottom price the game is going for, even less used. Get it and on the way pick up DMC III: SE too. Less than a full priced brand new game!
See ya, thanks for reading!
