Devil May Cry is an exciting game that will hook you. You won't want to put this game down!!!

User Rating: 9.1 | Devil May Cry (Platinum) PS2
In Capcom's Devil May Cry, you play as the legendary son of Sparda, Dante. Your main mission is to get to the bottom of the wierd happenings that go on in this creepy castle....and to escape with your life.

The Gameplay in Devil May Cry is exceptional. For those control freaks out there you can control all of Dante's special moves and abilities by using different configurations of controls, or if you just want to beat things there is an option of the easy automatic mode that will essentially take over the game for you and just let you run wild pushing buttons. The monsters are diverse, and although there are only 5 boss characters, you end up fighting each one about 3 times. Most of the game isn't too challenging, but nevertheless it definately falls into the "way too much fun" category.

I gave the graphics a 7 simply because I could not decide how to classify them. By no means are the graphics poor, especially for the time period in which the game was released (early PS2 2001). However, by todays standards they aren't spectacular. I just opted to go with an average type of rating, seeing how it wouldn't matter if this game had horrendous graphics, I would still play it.

The soundtrack for the game is great, very gothic with lots of organs and such in normal mode, but as soon as the battles begin it's all hardcore music with lots of guitars and trance type beats.

The game is fairly short (It took me a little over 6 hours), but it's definately worth checking out if your looking for a good, quick story for an afternoon.
