blizzard = fail or blizzard = money machine... 2nd opinion
Intro : blizzard is one of the most legendary game studio ever , why ? because of their early titles and ofcrouse because of diablo 1 and 2 , starcraft 1 , warcraft and such ... at this time of their life , blizzard used to come up with amazingly polished games, well thoughts and innovating.
one good examples of this is warcraft 3 , with the new 3d , heroes , and mix of epic / strategy into it ... another example is ofcrouse this very huge and daring project wich became the world largest mmorpg world of warcraft , wich was graphically outstanding and innovated in many many ways , content gameplay etc the gaming history ..... because of this many and many more gamers became addicted or fan of blizzard ( myself included) it became a cult .
One of the coolest game that everyone remember as being kind of a dark game from our youth was diablo2 ... people always were wondering when where they going to lunch a new diablo3 ... because of more 10years of waiting diablo 3 became the most preordered pc game ever.
( in the sum up i ll give the end of the story as personal feeling regarding blizzard )
the good :
it's easy to play n gameplay wise not too bad , easy to figure out things to do.
to make it easy to manage ur skills and stuff , yet nothing amazing in the setup , and some people ( myself included feel a little limited in the way of varying skills during a fight ... but this is not too bad )
- it's addictive , hack n slash , u feel pretty happy to smash people around .
one of the thing that is striking to me is the pace of the game , things go fast, u feel like walking pretty fast , and iu feel at reach of another group of monsters , another part of quest , another better gear or item .... wich make the game addictive .
especially now that a lot of friends bought the game and u can see them online and progress , so you want to keep up with them .... but u don't play because the game is good , but because of ur ego.
Best part : cut scene !!! how long have i been waiting to see those beautiful cutscene with tyrael ! seriously.... it's probably the best part of the game.
the bad :
- graphics are nearly as good as warcraft 3 ( wich mean really bad ) . seems like blizzard haven't updated their motor since then , cause everything look the same in their game for the last 7 years.
- design is not appropriate and lame ... it feels WOWish : and people that say that it doesn't should stop lying to themselves ... faces , expressions of npcs , areas have a wow look ... or u haven't played wow.
- area randomization is a fail , why ? ok , it's is pretty cool to think of it at first , that things change ... but really it doesn't change much , it's always the same patterns , so the only thing it does is mixing urself up when coming back to an area , where u find urself reexploring again all the places........ but where it fails the most to me is that because it is randomized , it means it's not really prepared or thought , it's not made by a lvl designer or an artist ( making it look real or lively)... so u end up with a lot of useless path and ways , and the area itself feels less alive that it should have been ... it fails to draw u into the game .
- Story game play ... this is one of the biggest fail ...
diablo is mostly made for single player ...because of diablo 1 and 2 , diablo story is crafted perfectly with amazing potential... but yet again the new fat blizzard'co , can't make it work yet again on this part of the game .
u run around and people talk while u smash people around ;;;; result ::; u don't hear what people say ...
all the events are set up in a mmorpg style ,
(Guildwars 2 are even better at making the story interesting and it is a mmorpg ... so while i think it is prize worthy for gw2 ... for a diablo it isn't , cause the maine purpose of the game is getting though the story ....)
well here you have quests , again WoW style , and u go around , wow style doing little stuff wow style ... and seriously at the end of the day u don't care at all of the story ...
polished ?? fail : what is polished here ?? even fighting doesn't feel this smooth , it's always the same voice acting saying the same things ... it doesn't feel polished to me.
-innovation FAIIILL : nothing is new it's outrageous that they dare to put this game , in 2013 we can't even customized the face of our character ... the only innovation they made are for their money and are total fail :
servers crashing because now u have to be online to play
servers lag , so u lag in ur single player game
auction house , who cares ? unless u r a big geek that want to spend money and make blizzard richer buy starting a trading centre or battle net of virtual goods.
battle arena ??? it's 4 vs 4 and their is not even a battle net ladder for it ....
to sum up , this is a rip off ....
i feel bad of having bought the game i want my money back and i m going to sell my account back with my barbarian high lvl on it ... ( i played for hours straight those last days trying to make up for my 60$ and hoping for something better coming ... yet it doesn't come ... it's lame. waste of time , i rather play other addictive game that are more fun to play long run )
so yes , blizzard is sadly losing their grip on the game industry ... oh they will make money for a couple of years ... but i think their glorious time is gone and that unless they rethink how they do things go back to they roots , they will inevitably go down with time. ( like so many other colossus did )
2nd thoughs :
so i m in inferno end of act 2 ...
good thought for blizzard they couldn't make a long enough game so they just decided to make the same short one , just harder and harder every time... not because monsters or new monsters are coming , just because now , they got more hp , and do more damage....
So i m at the point when i got to do pony inferno rush
( for u guys that don't know the pony world , it's the equivalent of cow world that used to be in diablo2 ...
little story : why ponies and not cows ? when everything in the game is the same, we could have thought they would have sticked with cows .... but no , they decided to make a little world full of rainbows , ponies and teddy bears , in reply to fans petition 2years ago that said that the game looked to colourful ... thats kind of a way for blizzard to spit on the face of their fan base and tell them : u don't want it colourful , here u go , pony rainbow land .." or at least that's how i see it ... think what u want ..)
i ve got to make load of money in order to continue equip my barb with good enough items to continue in inferno ... so auction house is where it's at .... farm , farm , farm for money ... just to get through inferno ... and i wonder why i would want to do it ? i already don't listen to anything that happens ... i only click around.
click , click, click , click , click, click click , click, click , click , click, click that s all it is about , we don't want to think , rather listen to some music while clicking or talking with some friends ....
so diablo 3 , is a pretty cool game though , u ll have fun playin if u have some friends .. but it s not nearly as good as it should have been..
