Better than the 2nd one. Please read.

Sure this game doesn't have much characters and arenas as the 2nd one but the digivolution system is less annoying plus the fact that the arenas are not as big as the 2nd one, you can see the characters better and there aren't as many traps in the arenas so you'll mostly be damaged from your opponent rather than falling off ledges, which takes out some of the action.
Unlike most of the fighting games on the ps1 the arenas are a lot more interactive and I like the fact that there's a small movie clip during evolutions but you can't do much combos considering the square button is the only punch/kick button but you can used them after doing moves such as 'Diamond Storm' or ' Summon'. The graphic is pretty good for a ps1 game but you can see the gaps between some of the polygon shapes. The voice overs are fairly good though the sound effects are a bit 'fuzzy' but the gameplay will make you ignore the faults. The multiplayer is fun though the mini-games are rather 'squarely' repetitive. Comfertable controls. It would be greater if there's an actual storyline in it . But then again noyhing's perfect.


Overall the game is Superb!
