This could have been a great game, but it was ruined in so many ways....

I'm not a big fan of the Dino Crisis series, I haven't played any of the
previous games yet, but I've played enough of this game to understand
why people hate it so much....

I'll start by stating some good points from this game. You play as Patrick, a
veteran member of SOAR, a squad of elite soldiers sent to check out
the reappearance of the colony ship Ozymandias, which had disappeared
a couple of centuries back. No sooner has the ship even caught sight of
the bizarre ship, things go out of control. The ship's main outside defense
systems are activated, destroying the ship, and all but a few SOAR members. You and squad-mate Sonya Hart enter the huge ship, which
starts the game off inside the ship's main Hangar.
From the very start of the game, the most eye-catching thing is the graphics,
which, throughout the game, will be one of the only good things about it.
Especially in the action packed cutscenes that just make you want to press
on. At the first cutscene, with the appearance of the Rex, you start thinking,
that this game is going to be a great experience from start to finish.
Well, the fun didn't last long.
After that very cutscene ends, the game starts showing off its bad side to it.
The most annoying thing about it, and if you've played this, you'll already
know full well, is the Camera Angle. And the problem with it? It makes the
game almost impossible to enjoy. For example, if there's a foe in the room,
you can't always see where the hell it's holed up, because of the
crippled camera. Imagine someone seeing a huge ass monster on the
other side of the room, but he just stands there like a retard. Well, that's
what this game is like.
Another thing I really hate in this game, is the very boring game play.
Like, who wants to go into a room, receive an objective that sounds easy
at first, make their way through two freaking thirds of the ship, going through the same enemies over and over, then beat the objective, and having to go ALL the way back to that previous room, getting bored, and bored all the way, fighting the same foes over and over again in every room until they get proper frustrated? I don't. But there's so much of it in the game.
And the graphics, despite how revolutionary they appear, look the same
in every room, which makes it incredibly easy to get lost, even with the 3D
map in the pause menu.

I'm getting kinda tired doing this, so I'll end it here.
But if you ever see this game on a shelf in a store, or in a sale, or wherever
else, leave it where it is.
