I don't get all the negative buzz about this. It's probably because I play so few shooters, and I can see how formulaic this is sometimes, but cmon, a FINAL FANTASY SHOOTER for God's sake! Enemies and levels are too uninspired, but I love the gun customization. Materia is a good FF7 addition, and I think the story is nice, since Vincent was the most interesting FF7 charecter. Graphics and cutscenes rule as well. And can I get an amen, because this is a final fantasy title with good voice acting, hallelujah! My major beef with this is that Vincent does so much stuff that's badass, but it is all in the cutscenes, where the gameplay is standard shooter fare. If Square Enix had taken the time to flesh out the combat system and make more combo and advanced attacks possible, this would truly be a classic favorite. But with Dirge as it is, rent it first, and if you like it like I do, buy it when the price drops.
