A strange step backward for Squares beloved Final Fantasy VII world. First and foremost this game is by no means a complete failure. On several levels it achieves moderate success. However on most levels it fails to even capture the faintest sense of greatness.

The story line is a memorable and compelling tale, however the gameplay is repetitive, the AI is dumb and the game is easy. The controls are a bit clunky and take a while to get used to.

Gameplay - 5
The gameplay is weak, simply put. You basically repeat the first level until the end. The customization options are a bit interesting and sometimes the game can be exciting, but for the most part its stale.

Graphics - 7
Decent visuals, the cut scenes are absolutely stunning however.

Sound - 7
The sound is decent, some okay sound effects and some decent tracks.

Overall - 6.3
The games storyline keeps it forward but the gameplay keeps it backward. I wouldn't recommended this game if your playing it for entertainment value..
