Amazing

User Rating: 9.1 | Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII PS2
I just beat this game a couple of hours ago, and i was shocked to see the ratings this game was given, this should have been rated something like a 9.5

graphics/visuals: keeps your eyes entertained. fairly nice animations, textures are well made. The FMV sequences are amazing! Sound: nothing particularly nice or great, its average

Gameplay: Story-This game was addicting the first time i played it, i had a hard time putting it down. But after i got to the later levels i fell in love. The story (like all final fantasy games) went deeper than it was expected to.

I havent played FF VII, so i didnt know what was going on at first, but i caught on pretty quickly. It had been 3 years since the midgar incident (which im still a little confused about) Vincent Valentine is a dark mysterious character who is trying to put an army (deepground) at rest. the army was associated with midgar in some way. Deepground is trying to "purify" the world and it's vincent valentine's job to put that to rest. After you beat the leaders of deepground, you keep thinking the game will end, but you will be shocked at how much the game goes into. Vincent also has a beast inside him that he trys to contain throughout the game.

Features-One of the coolest things about this game is, you can customize your gun, and on top of that, it changes the look of your gun (as opposed to just upgrading it.) You can add materia to your gun which gives it a magic element, and lets it fire shots of lightning, fire, or ice

Theres also a slue of items to use including limit breaker, which turns vincent into a beast that hurls fireballs and crushes things. Potions, phoenix downs, ethers, elixers, its got it all.

Controls- very smooth and easy to play with, it took me merely 5 minutes to get comfortable. there is a targeting system that helps aim, with an unlockable sniping option as well.

Game after the story is finished: apparently there are hidden targets which i still havent gotten around to, but the target unlock character models, extra missions, concept art, etc.

Overall: i couldnt set this game down, it just kept me playing to see what would happen next. A major downside to this game though, is the game overs. because the saves arent very consistant, and you can only create temp saves (one time load saves). If you can get past that, this game is incredible!
