This is an excellent game for all Final Fantasy fans.

I decided to get this game despite all the bad reviews I read about it, because I am a huge Final Fantasy VII fan. Lets just say I am glad I did. Now before I break it down, I am going to say that if you didn't play Final Fantasy VII, then you might not know what is going on, and the movie didn't really explain alot about what happened two years before. Now with that said, lets begin.

First I'll start with most people seem to care about. Graphics.
The graphics in this game are actually amazing. The in game graphics were really smooth, and the CG videos were comparable to Advent Children. I don't usually worry much about graphics as long as the game has a good story, but this game looked really good so I thought it added to the experience.

Next I am going to talk about sound.
I was really happy when I found out that this game's voice cast is pretty much the same as was in Advent Children. They did a great job in the movie, and I fell they did a great job in Dirge, as well. The music in this game was really good. Only one or two tracks were annoying after a while. The rest of it was actually quite enjoyable. The sound effects in this game were effective and added to the game play.

Moving on. Next I am going to talk about game-play and controls.
A lot of people were upset about the fact that this game was a third person shooter. I wasn't upset about it, but I was a little worried. However, after playing it, I was pleasantly surprised to find out out that it was really fun and easy to get used to. Now I have read reviews where they say the controls are terrible and impossible to master. Well I disagree. I found the controls to be very eay to learn. I'm not saying you will go in knowing how to do everything, but one time thru the tutorial and you will have a firm grasp on the controls. Alright, enough about the controls. The story of this game was really good. It has continuity with the the original game as well as Advent Children. The story was told really well. Some people complained about the fact that there was a massive amount of cut scenes, but I feel that if they are down well, then I don't mind the down time. Now, some people didn't like that the game focused on Vincent Valentine. Since he was my one of my favorite characters in FFVII, I didn't mind. I also enjoyed the fact that I learned more about his back story. All right, time to finish up.
This a great game, that I enjoy playing. If you are a Final Fantasy VII fan or a Final Fantasy fan in general, then you should definitely try this game. You should do what I do and try to ignore all the bad reviews and try a game for yourself. I am glad I did.
