Dirge of Cerberus may not be the best of the FF series, but its something thats probably worth for maybe a week or so...

Dirge of Cerberus, okay, when I first played the game i thought it would be like any other game from the series but did it prove me wrong. To start with, you play as the mysterious Vincent Valentine ( My personal favorite of the FFVII crew) as he ventures out stop the menace Deepground while uncovering the vauge details of his past which made him the person he is now. Vincent is a very cool character to play as because of the fact that you can play as Chaos in the last chapter of the game(SPOILER). Anyways, the gameplay seems rather simple with the standard jump and the newly added "double jump" because the sales on the japanese version sucked. The other thing that ticked me off was that the cutscenes were great to watch, but they just put too much movie and not enough gameplay, honestly I would have brought some popcorn and sat down for the movie previews before the actual cutscenes start. Dont get me wrong, this game had alot of potential to have a better rating and would have drawn a much larger audience, but they didnt have that notion on their minds i guess. The best feature about it is the seemingly endless combinations you can use to customize your weapons; i stuck with the Cerberus as my main choice, the Griffion w/ the short barrel(higher rate of fire), and then the Hydra. Overall, the game has its ups and its downs, but its a game you'd wanna consider on your Gamefly list for fun, but if your a hardcore FFVII fan, this game is a must-have for your collection so you can play it on Friday nights.
