The driving mechanics of the game feel exactly as they should in a real car. The physics of the game force you to carefully adjust your throttle brake input. The game FORCES you to drive like a human being. There are no redo's, collisions are almost always catastrophic. There is no sliding against walls or crashing into opponents in this game. It's racing as real as driving is in real life. However the problem with the game is with competition. The game requires you to drive like a human, but the competition is not following the same rules. There is the obvious part where opponents just crash into you during rallycross when you get in their way. That's something all racing video games, and Tesla, have to work on. But there is the much more sinister difficulty in all opponents having a god-like ability to go around the tracks without a single mistake. That's right. If you bought this game and you are hoping to beat it with all computer assisted handling options, AT, and the easiest difficulty selected, good luck. Because you will finish race after race, setting good lap times, but in the end, you will find that you did not place a podium finish, and you lose all your work. That's where this game lacks range. It's inviting, but it's also extremely exclusive. It sets the bar annoyingly high, almost an f.u. for purchasing it. While at the same time, it teaches you to avoid all the safety precautions you learned while driving in real life, and really, just squeeze as hard on the throttle as you can, and crash a million times, until you get it right. It's basically just trackmania disguised as an ultra realistic driving sim. If you like it, enjoy, but for me, it definitely makes it a less perfect experience.
And f.y.i. the only way this game is actually playable, is on custom mode, with a 2000's era Subaru Impreza STI. (They also said f.u. to any later Subaru)
