Is it really a good change for the Dirt series?
And all of them were actually amazing
I loved how they brought Rally to your living room, with a very nice cockpit Cam, realistic Damage models, and some good competition aswell if you set the difficulty right with no braking assist etc.
However Codemasters tried something new here With Dirt Showdown.
First of all lets round up the different game modes, because the classic ones are gone (except Gymkhana with a twist.)
Elimination: a timer starts and the last on the line gets eliminated.
Knockout: An arena based game type in which you play against others on a raised platform and you get points if you ram them off the platform
Domination races: Get the fastest score in sectors as you race a few laps.
Eight-ball races around figure-of-eight tracks with crossovers
Hoonigan mode, think of it as Gymkhana with a twist
Smash blocks mode, I don't like this one
You have to smash blocks according to the colour presented on your screen, are you smashing wrong colours then it is game over.
Arena mode in wich you play alone against waves of cars that try to smash you in pieces
They included Crashback, just like flashback but you can see the crash you made in to another car
Also it is now possible to upgrade your car into a higher class while upgrading power, strength...
At first glance this game might look good as you see all the different game modes. But the game feels like it has been put together really fast. For a reason I don't know they removed the cockpit cam aswell, wich is a shame. Also the game feels too Arcade style, fast paced with nitro instead off the classic Dirt games before this one. Though I like smashing cars and this game provides some good game types for this. Codemasters had a good Idea of this one but this game needed some important things like cockpit cam and less arcady. They don't have to release a Dirt game every year, I see the quality go down as they try to match their "a new year a new Dirt" deadline I gave it a lower score then other reviews you will probably see but this is because It's to arcady for a Dirt game in my oppinion
Don't buy for just the single player because you will be likely dissapointed after a few hours of gameplay.

I don't like the twist they brought to Dirt series I want classic rally and trailblazer etc back.
