Another game from Codemasters and it shows. They know how to make compelling racing games. Game is dating back from sept 2007 and it is starting to show. In my view, compared with for instance GRID, the graphics are a bit less but even then still very worthwile.
The Career mode is very well, I am now driving in Pro mode, and I am getting first places, but it takes some effort. Most tracks I have to drive 10 times or more, so that you really know every corner, know which gear to use for every corner etc. You have a mix of disciplines (rally, buggies, rallyraid (not my thing), hill climb (bit boring), rallycross and rallyraid trucks) which give as such enough variation, certainly because the rallies and tracks are in different places and even continents with different underground for everything.

The clock, more in particular the seconds are your contestant. The rally is best worked out and gives the highest challenges, but also the other races are worth the effort.

I am now playing this game, together with a shooter (Resistance 2) and spending quite some time on it. It's fun, certainly because I am trying to be first at the highest level in all races, not so easy as you can imagine.

However, having noticed that DIRT 2 is coming, as soon as this one is finished, DIRT 2 may certainly enter the room.
