Every so often, there is a game that pulls you in so completely that you think of little else. Disgaea 2 is one of these

Once again I have drawn inexorably into the world of Disgaea, fighting monsters and Overlords in a Netherworld. I loved the first Disgaea and spent countless hours leveling up my characters, items and trying to see what I skills I could master. I am now doing the same with Disgaea 2. The creators of Disgaea 2 have added even more options than the first. There is now a “Felony” system in place that helps boost your stats, you can be a member of the Dark Assembly now, as well as travel to the “Dark World”, as well as many more that I have not explored as of yet. I have had the game only a few weeks and put in over two hundred hours. It’s a bit ridiculous, sad and true. The only problem I had with the first Disgaea and now Disgaea 2 is that there are SO many things that you can do it’s hard to keep track; especially when you start to gain a large number of characters. One of my favorite things about Disgaea is the fact that you can level up items. A mundane sword can become a powerhouse of slashing death if you spend enough time leveling it up. Also, I like the idea that items can have a rarity status, giving them more stat boosts than others.
All in all, this game consumes most of my waking free time, and some of my sleeping time while I dream about item world and have the games funky music lulling me to sleep. I don’t see myself not playing Disgaea 2 for several months. If you like turn based strategy games, you should give this one a whirl.
