The first great SRPG to come along in a very long time
The story in disgaea is about laharl the prince of the Netherworld who just woke up from a very long nap to find his father, the king has died. through out the game laharl trys to get his rightful place on the throne back form demons who were trying to take over the netherworld while he was napping.
Sound:
The voice acting in disgaea: Hour of Darkness is top notch.
The dialog in the game is a mix between very funny humor and griping drama. The music in this game is wonderful the soundtrack is full celtic, tecno. and JPOP
Gameplay:
Disgaea is a turn-based SRPG in battle, you summon your army to the battlefield then you and your enemy take turns fighting each other. your army can range from ninjas to demons or even angels. the battles are very fun and addicting. For those who like to max out their characters you'll be busy for a while because each character's max level is 9999. graphics:
The only thing holding this game back is the graphics.
The cutscenes are done in anime style drawings, while the rest of the game in in what looks like good playstaion one grachics. But thankfuly disgaea is a good enough game not to need fancy grapics.
In the end disgaea: Hour of Darkness is a great game but if you weigh to much on graphics you might not like this game. On the other hand if you love SRPGs or humor fulled gameplay disgaea: Hour of Darkness is perfect for you I give Disgaea: Hour of Darkness 9 out of 10
