A weekend's worth of action.

User Rating: 6.8 | Disney/Pixar The Incredibles PC
The Incredibles was a fantastic movie, certainly Pixar's best one yet, but unfortunately the same cannot be said about the game. THQ's rendition of the Incredibles in their part platformer part action/brawler game is done properly but the irresponsive controls, shoddy camera and sloppy framerate mar the almost incredible experience that is the Incredibles.

The game follows the story from the flick and takes place in some of the environments found there. The gameplay is pretty decent, kick butt, press buttons, kick butt, jump gaps, kick butt, sneak past enemies and finally kick 'boss' butt. All four characters are available and playable but you don't get to choose one of them right away, each levels are assigned to each characters, and each of their levels are varied, such as; with Mrs. Incredible (Elastigirl) and Mr. Incredible you have to brawl and platform your way out of sticky situations, with Violet you'll have to utilize stealth and with Dash you'll have to Race/Run out of any trouble he's gotten to. It would've been nice to play with Frozone. One of the more memorable levels was the Incredi-Ball where Violet and Dash unite together to form a giant ball of force-field.

The visuals are pretty decent, but fitting for the game. PC version has the added option for choosing higher resolutions and anti-aliasing. The character-models are well done and the animation is super-sleek. There are a very few engine-generated cutscenes as most of the game shows quick montages from the film, but I think it would've been nice to have some more engine cutscenes.

Overall, the Incredibles is a good game but lacks imagination, it should be enough to quench the thirst of those who just want a little more of the Incredibles after the movie.
