On The Super NES, Game Boy Advance, Or The Switch; one of the Best Movie Based Games Ever Made!

User Rating: 10 | Disney's Aladdin SNES

Ideally, I should've reviewed this game a long time ago. I don't know why I felt like I didn't have to before. While Sega's idea to HAVE Disney animators influence the look of THEIR version of the game might have sounded like a GOOD idea in theory; the problem is, none of them had any EXPERIENCE in actually DESIGNING a video game before! And the fact of the matter is, the 16-bit generation just wasn't ready for a "Cuphead" video game level of animation-designed influence and innovation! Capcom, on the other hand; were well-versed in knowing what made a great video game, knew the types of obstacles a video game should have, knew how to make great graphics, great music (sounding just LIKE the music of the movie version of "Aladdin"), great sound, great controls, and just the right amount of difficulty...meaning that if you HAPPEN to fall or lose your life in this game; it's your OWN darn fault! While this game (with the exception of two of the game's seven levels), takes its cues directly from the movie; that's totally not a bad thing! There are enough stages filled with red jewels, extra lives, extra hearts, extra 1-ups, and extra continues to find! There are only four boss fights in this game (and one of them is a zero-effort boss that requires one hit to beat), but it's the obstacles of getting past all the stage hazards and normal enemies in this game that will probably the hardest part of the game more than anything else! With as well-made as this game is; it's little wonder that it just HAPPENS to be Capcom's best-selling game for the Super NES that WASN'T "Street Fighter II" related! It's for this reason that I'm finally reviewing and recommending this very well-made game to all retro platform video game enthusiasts out there! Enough said, true believers!
