A visual masterpiece and one of the few games to be spawned off of a successful movie that actually was fun!

User Rating: 8.4 | Disney's Aladdin GEN
Whoa boy kids, time to pull out your Genesis. I know you still have one because I still have one-- if only for this game! I didn't see Aladdin as a kid when it came out. However, I did go over to a friend's house and play this game on his Genesis a lot. It's a typical side-scroller set in the Aladdin universe. It's quite immersive, utilizing the characters and the plot from the movie which is of course: save the girl/princess/queen/animal. Gameplay is tight and smooth (although I wonder why I can never jump and move at the same time). I think there are 6-7 levels (it's been a while since I've played) and aside from its short length (think 2 hours today) I've got no complaints. The levels vary, from the streets of Agrabah, to being chased by lava on a magic carpet, to finally moving through the genie's lamp. Its fun, easy, and is enjoyable to play. For a bit of nostalgia, pick this one up. The music will have you remembering the movie and the gameplay will make you remember why side-scrollers once ruled the world.
