This game cracks me up, even after 11 months of
playing. It is somewhat wasted on children; I
doubt if many of them fully appreciate the names
and characteristics of the different cog types.
(E.g., the Ambulance Chaser Lawyer robots, the Glad
Hander Sales robots, and the Loan Shark Financial
Cashbots) I bet the game developers had a lot of
fun & worked off a lot of aggression in developing
those characters. Bad but funny jokes abound in
the toon-up gags and behind buildings' side doors.
I've made some very good friends playing on Toon
Town. (There IS a way for adults to become "secret
friends," despite the game's restrictions.) A
strong point is the game's prosocial emphasis:
cooperation, fair play, and good sportsmanship are
rewarded; antisocial behavior is penalized. After
your first toon maxes out, you can develop other
characters, and the games' designers are constantly
adding lagniappe. Don't let the "G" rating deter
you from sampling this unexpectedly delightful
game.
