This is insulting to both Treasure Planet and the Playstation.

When the movie Treasure Planet came out, it was just considered another Disney movie. When the game came out on both the Playstation and the PS2, it was a disaster. I didn't have a PS2 when it came out so I ended up with the PS version and boy, do I feel disgusted. You play as Jim, a young adventurer on a mission to find a planet of endless treasure. Well, don't get your hopes up because this game is no treasure. The game tricks you into thinking you'll be taking on many enemies, when all they are are repeating models, just with changed clothes. The game has nothing to do with the movie. Where did Jim get a blaster and a sword? The graphics are just rancid, even for the Playstation. I mean, look at the screen shots. That is all you will see in this game, I guarantee. The controls are sluggish and sometimes, unresponding. Slash and shoot random enemies will earn you tokens that bare the emblem of Treasure Planet. Collect them all to reveal a piece of the map to the planet of forever riches. Well, I didn't play the game long enough to uncover anything to do with the end. I was only on the 2nd level before I slammed down the controller and turned off the game. The voice acting is from the same actors from the movie, but they did much better on the big screen. Jim is also followed by the pink blob, Morph. Morph is just annoying, not cute like he is suppose to. The mini games you play are slow-paced and sometimes, irritating. The music tries to give you a feeling of being on the sea and being in a world of pirates, but all I hear is a TRY, not a success. Finally, the weird air sailing 'races' are annoying. If you don't beat the time, you need to start all the way over and you usually need to collect a crap load of turbos and get a short lasting boost. If you hit an obstacle, you either die or lose a LOT of speed. Personally, I wish Disney's games were as good as its movies because this was just pathetic. Game over, Disney.
