Good Game but Far from being Finished.

Ok so Dmc.
What can I say it's a reboot of a popular franchise.
I will not dwell on what all the other reviews have said so far, you can go read or watch those if you want.
The game is lacking in many elements that were integral to previous dmc games, elements that made the games so enjoyable. However it doesn't exactly do anything bad, the game is a solid foundation for future games that only needs to have stuff added to it, just think of it as a bare skeleton with barely any substance that in many ways feels rushed and unfinished, and filled with bugs yes the game has a lot of bugs and glitches.

Gameplay-
First of the game play, ridiculously easy combat paired with an incredibly generous styling system, you can literally get a SSS style just in 1 hit or one multi-hit attack and it really feels like they either wanted to make this super accessible or just didn't want to waste any time tweaking the game play to perfection. Not only that its so easy you can just button mash your way trough the game. The lack of styles and moves in this game is really just a downgrade from previous games.

Some important gameplay elements seem to be omitted from this game like the lock on, which feels incredibly needed in this game, and the taunting, which oddly enough there is exactly two buttons that do nothing at all in the game, again the suspicion that they didn't have time to finish putting this in the game.

Weapons-
You get a total of 2 angel weapon and 2 demon weapons, 1 basic weapon and 3 ranged weapons, this might seem like a lot since you an actually change them on the fly all you want.
But after a game play it just isn't enough there is no more experimentation to be done anymore and you just end up doing the same thing over and over and over again for a game that boasts up replay value as one of it's main features.
I was always hoping to get something more out of it, like new weapons for every new mode I finished.

Enemies and bosses-
Your opposition in this game is laughable, basically sandbags on legs, not only that the enemy design makes no sense and is very lacking in any diversity and in any kind of interesting pattern, for the exception of those dual blade wielding guards.
The design it self is pretty much humanoid cliches of enemies with barely any originality that don't really make any sense in the new dmc world.

Bosses are incredibly good looking and very promising once you get to them but that's about it, once you start fighting them you will realize they are just damage sponges with barely any dynamic game flow that all the previous dmc offered.
And...Mundus is probably one of the worst rush jobs of a final boss you will ever see.
And on top of that there is barely any bosses at all.
Bosses are supposed to be the final test of all that you have accomplished until now but instead limit you in your actions instead of letting you experiment on different ways to "finish" the test.

Level design-
Level design is spectacular in this game with various moving location and an environment that tries to kill you, makes the game that much more enjoyable. But again a lot of areas feel very rushed and lacking in that amazing limbo feel you get early on in the game, and add in a few slow story driven sections with barely any gameplay that you would wish would just disappeared or could be skipped. Also many platforming sections are just ridiculous and seems like they have been designed for little kids, even tough this is a mature game. Either the player is underestimated or they didn't have time to finish building the levels.

Story and characters-
Story has a nice premise and opens the way for many sequels, and the very rare dry humor bits in this game will just make you grin happily, apart from that story feels like a teen drama with undeveloped characters.

Difficulty-
The difficulty in this game ramps up quite nicely from normal modes to son of sparda mode, new attack patterns, new attacks, remixed waves and everything in the between. But once you get a difficulty higher it doesn't change it feels like they only did that for one mode and that's it, didn't take time to do the same for the other difficulty modes. Which led to quite some disappointment.

Best part of the game is the extras especially the concept art, it's mind blowing and makes you just wonder why isn't that in the game?

Overall the game is fun, but the lack of a lot of features and game play elements just kill it's replay and make it feel unpolished and unfinished, I played trough it not for the game play like I used to in all the previous games , but solely to see that concept art.
