There's plenty of good times to be had with Dokapon Kingdom, especially when playing with forgiving friends.

User Rating: 7.5 | Dokapon Kingdom for Wii WII
Dokapon Kingdom is a unique title.

Wave after wave of bad minigame collections on the wii may make you wary to try Dokapon, but you'd be missing out if you chose to avoid it.

The closest way I can describe it is a mix between Mario Party, Monopoly, and an RPG from the NES days.

The main things you need to know about Dokapon Kingdom include-

1. This is a MULITPLAYER game. Yes, it has a single player mode, but it feels like a completely different game when playing alone.

2. It is a game about betrayal, which can be very frustrating if you or your friends are bad at handling games where you are beaten over and over again into total submission.

3. It is NOT a mini-game colleciton. Despite what the box-art/ description of the game might lead you to believe, this is more of an RPG experience where you'll accomplish quests and level up.

4. The game is built on Rock, Paper, Scissors mechanics, but does it in a deep and methodical way. The beginning stages of Dokapon will seem random and unfair, but there is strategy at work all through Dokapon Kingdom.

5. You win the game by collecting the most money. There are other game modes too, but this is the most common. You make money by defeating monsters and controlling towns (much like property in Monopoly).

OVERALL:
Dokapon Kingdom is much deeper than a first glance would suggest. It takes hours to fully understand all the game mechanics at play.
It could easily take 4 players a couple days to finish a full game During this time it's likely you'll go back and forth between first and last place a few times.

It can be a long and frustrating process, but in the end it's just a good game to sink a ton of hours into. There's plenty of good times to be had with Dokapon Kingdom, especially when playing with forgiving friends.
