While it seems Dokapon is a well established franchise in Asia already, Dokapon Kingdom fortunately found its way to the US shores.

An excellent hybrid of board game and turn-based rpg, Dokapon Kingdom holds an enormous amount of gameplay throughout its entirety. Whether you're going through story mode or just free play, there's an incredible amount of things to do in this game.

You can pick from 3 different job classes to begin with (Warrior, Magician, Thief) but there are 9 others available throughout the course of the game to unlock, each with their own special skills and talents. While the game flow is exceedingly simple (spin, move, battle), there are a goodly amount of dungeons to explore as well as weapons/shelds to purchase from the shops. There are a bunch of random events that can happen as well to add to the game. Battles, as aforementioned, are turn-based and cut and dry thankfully, seeing as you'll be battling quite a lot. There is a story mode, which is mission based and quite enjoyable, and the free play mode can be played almost indefinitely (you can play up to 999 ingame "weeks"). I would highly suggest playing with your buddies instead of the CPU opponent, since, as with all luck based games; the CPU will inexplicably get the spin it needs 98% of the time.

To put it altogether in a nutshell, there's a myriad of places to explore and things to do. Job classes actually differ from eachother with distinct and rewarding innate abilities, and the battle system isn't overly complicated.

As I've stated in previous reviews, graphics do not make the game. Any game. Don't be put off by the "kidsy" style, any gamer at any level will enjoy this for months on end.
