Don King boxing is a good first try at boxing and has a great control scheme but with no replay value it gets boring.

Don King Boxing for the DS is a really fun game and is much better than Showtime Boxing in my opinion. The control scheme is great, you use the stylus to mimic what punch you want to do. So if you want to do an uppercut you slide the stylus upward or if you want to do a hook you slide the stylus left or right. You can also do body shots also. And for jabs you just tap the screen. Now for the Career Mode all you do is fight boxers at different venues and you unlock them after you beat them. There is very little story and once you beat career mode that's pretty much it. Also you improve your stats by completing mini-games successfully. And you also get to customize how your boxer looks too but it isn't much. The game has good graphics and very good presentation for a DS boxing game. I suggest that you at least rent the game first and then decide if you want it or not. I loved the game and am happy that I bought it but there is very little replay value which is something I value highly.
