This made me pray for a DKC4, though it never was made :-(

Underappreciated, yes, seems like everyone out there says DKC1 or DKC2 are both miles ahead of this one. Probably, but I refuse to say that they are even better than DKC3. There was just something about this game that made it so special. It might have been the amazing graphics, amazing map, or the amazing gameplay (a given in a DKC game). I may be different, but everyone laughs at this game and it's "gimmicks". I for one, found the "gimmicks" to be quite creative and sometimes comical. For example, some of the more creative levels include Ripsaw Rage, where you are hurrying up a tree with a giant saw ripping through, Lightning Lookout, one of the hardest levels in the game, where lightning strikes down in sometimes unpredictable spots anticipating your movement, Krackshot Kroc, where you play as the spider while an offscreen Kremling is aiming to shoot you with a fireball, Stampede Sprint, where you play as the elephant sprinting through a course after being scared off by mice, and there are more.

As previously mentioned, the graphics are great. The archetypes just look perfect, better than DKC and DKC2. The music. I loved the music in every DKC game, and this one was no exception. The boss music is the best. Another underrated aspect that I enjoyed was the map, as you dont need Funky to help you get to a certain part of an island, but you need his watercrafts or plane to access any part of the island that you have unlocked. The look of each land in the country is great too. The addition of banana birds also adds in a great fixture. Whether its finding the cave on the map, or going on a lil quest involving the bear brothers, it is all creative and unique.

But anyway, if you own a SNES, i highly suggest adding this one to your collection.
