initially i was very exited when i heard Donkey Kong Country was returning. Then i found out you could not use the classic controller. I played all the SNES-Donkey Kongs using the SNES controller and i wanted it to be like those games, only with better graphics. I had some doubts, but everyone kept saying this was such a great game. Then i found out the gremlins weren't in this game, but hey, the graphics looked nice and the backgrounds seemed to come to life and it looked fun so i went out and got it.
Then me and a buddy started playing this and found out the worst part: you have to control the two monkeys simultaneously! In the old games one player would get hit, the other one took over, now you have to navigate through these platforming levels while keeping up with the other player, much like new super mario bros. It totally ruins the game experience, it's not at all how it used to be. The apes now have these zelda-like heart containers which is also annoying as you have to keep watch how many hearts you have got.
it really is a 1-player game and that's not why i bought this game.
