I really like this game, although it disappoints me that my wife is much better at it than me. The execution of the simple game idea is near perfect, deffo worth its price tag. You play as a little character (lets call him Doodle) that auto jumps up the screen (in portrait aspect) onto platforms, the skill for the gamer is to make sure that Doodle lands on a platform and doesn't fall into space, if he does its game over. There are springs, heli-hats, rockets boots and other pick ups to assist you assent and black holes, gribblies and UFOs queuing up to stop Doodle's relentless journey upwards. Your score is calculated by the distance traveled.
I personally like the addition of the stats feature, even though I've reached a point a with Doodle Jump where my scores aren't getting any better I'm still working to up my average, yep nerdy I know. If possible I advice the player keeps the sound on, you can here the gribblies before you see them and that extra 1-2 seconds can make the difference between an average boosting or average crushing go
