Castle Wolfinstein may have started the first person shooter but it was Doom that REALLY made the genre what it is now. The game is perfect, this is shown by the fact that its still played by many people day after day across the world. Without Doom there woundn't be Quake, Duke Nukem, Turok, Half Life, Halo, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, and the list goes on and on. Doom is a classic, no its a legend. Without Id software the gaming world wouldn't be what it is today. Thank god for Id. If you havn't played Doom in one way or the other then you are not a gamer.
