If you love shooters, especially first person shooters, you absolutely owe it to yourself to play DOOM! While Wolfenstein 3D could be considered the first ever first person shooter, the first shooter to really pave the way for the rest was of course, DOOM. And it is DOOM that everyone tried to copy (hence the now almost dead term...DOOM-clone). Why? it was so successful! The run and gun formula established by Wolf 3d was improved upon with DOOM with better graphics, sound, and...just overall game-play. Its amazing that even after 10 years I still come back to this game whether it be on my Cell phone, Palm Pilot, my Xbox 360, or on my thumb drive while at school and have fun! Its a timeless classic that just never gets old no matter how many times you play though it. like i said, if you've played modern shooters, you OWE it to yourself to go back and see just how we got here. Download it on XBL arcade, download the demo and use a windows frontend loader, just do something to play this game!
