This is a must have for X-Box owners as well as people who already have the PC Version.

Doom 3 is a FPS developed by iD Software and Vicarious Visions and is also out for the PC. Doom 3 is basically a remake of the first Doom with a few extra twists and somewhat of a story. It follows the story of a nameless marine who is shipped off to Mars on military duty. The UAC corporation is working on a teleportation machine when they accidently open a portal to hell and the forces of hell take over the base. The marine somehow survives the onslaught and must fight his way through the base in order to close the portal to hell and to stop the source of the invasion. The Graphics in this game are probably some of the best graphics any X-Box game has to offer. When you compare it to the PC version, the PC version does look better but you can't help to be amazed by the graphics the X-Box is capable of. The facial animations are excellent, you can even see if they are happy, fearful, and what not. The graphical detail to the enviornment and weapons is something also worth mentioning as you can tell that the developers put alot of love into making it. The Sound in this game is something that makes the game feel more spooky, you can hear the sounds of monsters, dying marines, etc. off in the distance and it really puts you on edge. There were times where I thought I heard a demon off in the distance and I got kinda scared but it turns out there was no monster at all. This is probably one of the first game in which sound makes he feel uneasy whilst playing. Still, a little bit of the voice acting feels bland and unmotivated and your marine never speaks aside from screaming when he gets hit by enemies. The Gameplay is probably the game's "weak" point. The main issue is that it feels a little outdated and it's too linear. And one of the things that got to me is the flashlight, why can't you attach it to your gun? You'd think there would at least be a flashlight attached to the gun like in Halo but it's not there. The outdated feel is barely noticeable as you will be too distracted to notice. But it has something that the PC version doesn't have : Co-Op play. I found it very fun to play with a friend of mine over X-Box Live. The Co-Op mode is something that I had alot of fun with. In Co-Op mode, the levels are made accustomed to 2 players and it's also the first time over X-Box Live that I have been scared even with someone else beside me. You can have someone hold a flashlight while the other blasts away at the enemies. The Co-Op mode adds to the replay value alot. If you got the Collector's Edition, there are a few noticeable extras worth talking about. The first one is..................the playable versions Classic Doom 1 and 2. You can play the classic Dooms in Single Player, Deathmatch or Co-Op. The thing that I didn't get is why there was no X-Box Live support for Co-Op and Deathmatch. But the games bring back alot of memories if you are a long time Doom Fan. Other extras include Concept Art, Interviews with developers, and a G4 TV special about the Doom Series If you own an X-Box and love First-Person shooters or a long time Doom fan, then this game is for you. Even owners of the PC version should check the X-Box version
