As Good As the Console, Now Portable!

User Rating: 8.4 | DOOM II GBA
Doom was a revolutionary game when it was released for PC. It built upon its predecessor Wolfenstein 3D and defined the first person shooter genre for many years. You play as a marine sent to a doomed planet, trying to escape with only the weapons you find for assistance.

As someone who really enjoyed the PC version, this game takes me back. I can chase the aliens and blast them with various weapons or hack at them with the chainsaw. The play control is good, with accurate responsiveness.

If you're used to 21st century shooters like Halo or KillZone, this GBA release will seem blocky, choppy, and antiquated. It's a faithful port of the PC game, with the same clunky sprites and computer-generated sound effects.
