Doom is one of the longest waited sequel of all time. and did ID software did it? Yes they did it. they nailed it. at one point the game was call of doom. then they cancelled it and reboot it again and ID software really deliver a Masterpeice of game.

- no iron sight? check
- no regen health? check
- no more call of duty type scripted QTE sequence? check
- Deep and complex level design? check
Doom has been on some hard times since Doom 3 was released, and that was 13 years ago. Finally, a modern iteraton of the series has been released that actually has some heart. Doom 2016 is far more steeped in what made the originals so great. Doom 3 while beign excellent game was different apporach and was not what Doom was about.
at the start of the game within 3 second you have gun and shoot demon. no more waiting for lengthy boring unskippable cutscene. this game done what even PC FPS like serious sam, Hard reset and shadow warrior has failed to do. and that is a level design unlike painkiller/hard reset/serious sam this game is not just on close tight arena shooting enemies. it also invove exploration and have big open ended map. then when it comes to gunplay and combat i would say this game has one of the best gunplay in FPS game ever. and best since Original FEAR. its so damn satisfying. only thing i can nitpick about very slow start and glory kill did nothing but thats only minor problem
this is probably the best Pure FPS i have ever played since Half life 2. if you are FPS fan and think genre is not good in years. COD or battlefield style kill it then you have to play Doom. if you want to play different FPS than modern crap then you have to play Doom. ID software did it. The game is simply Masterpiece. Id software revolutionize the FPS genre and they can change the landscape of FPS genre again.
