Story - Your basic Double Dragon story. The gangs are controlling the city and you have to beat them up to save the day.
Graphics/Sound - No issues with the graphics. The game looks and sounds great. I liked the soundtrack a lot, it really helped set the mood.
Gameplay - It is your basic beat'em up. It plays well and I have no glaring issues with it but I was hoping it would do something to stand out and sadly, it does not. You have the option to purchase upgrades upon completion of levels but it takes a few rank-ups for these upgrades to have any noticeable impact on the gameplay, even then they are minor differences.
Content - Annoyingly short - there are only 5 levels. It'll take about 90 minutes to complete the game (that includes watching cutscenes). There are a few unlockable characters but they all play the same, they just have different special moves. For $30, I expected far more than we got out of it.
Overall: 4/10
The lack of content is a killer considering how quick it is to beat the game. The rogue-lite elements don't add much of anything to the overall experience. The replay value just isn't there to make this the kind of game worth putting more than 3-4 hours into.
DLC - They added online co-op, 3 new characters, and 2 new game modes for free. Sadly, this DLC came out nearly a year after the game was released.
