FMV-based "Trap-em-up" game, starring Corey Haim, Deborah Harry, & Lee Ermey (of Full Metal Jacket fame)
Trapped in the basement by his parents (Deborah Harry & Lee Ermey) you are hired by Eddie to protect the building from intruders.
The gameplay involves keeping an eye on an outline of the building on the left side of the screen, trapping the intruders (particularly the ones represented by a red dot- these are the immediate threats to the tenants' security)
Another thing to be sure to keep an eye on is the Power Room; if an intruder cuts the power, it's Game Over (there are also several different Game Over screens depending on your advancement in the game, as well as other FMVs that are triggered by doing something that is either exciting, or reprehensible to Eddie) aside from the color system involving the dots, a repeating beep tone also indicates an intruders' presence in the building.
The game has 3 "Acts", inbetween them are the save points (a necessity on the two disc Sega Saturn version, which features fullscreen video with a transparent outline) it doesn't take long for a repeated player to figure out the pattern for each Act, and tilt the CAPTURED/ESCAPED scales in their favor.
The traps don't require a special code unlike Night Trap; however they do require you to use the right trap at the right time.
It takes about 3-4 button pushes to completely activate a trap; therefore by pushing it 2-3 times you can "cock the hammer" so to speak, on the trap you think is going to be set off.
I recommend this game to anyone who has a Sega CD, Sega Saturn, or PC.
Blessed Be
