User Rating: 8.9 | Dr. Mario & Panel de Pon GBA
I have been a big fan Dr. Mario ever since it came out for the NES back in the old days. It’s as addictive, if not more, than tetris. And now it’s rendered wonderfully on the GBA. The game is portrayed almost exactly like it was in the old school version. The level choices provide an opportunity for varied game play speeds and difficulties, depending on your mood. There are also several different game options which allow you to play by yourself or against the computer. If you have bad eyesight, though, you might want to reconsider because it can be a little hard to play for long periods of time without straining your eyes a bit.

The puzzle league part of the game is also done very well. There are the classic levels, vs. computer levels, and puzzle levels. This portion of the game also adheres closely to the old school version, but again is a little hard to play for too long because of its size.

After passing certain levels in the games, you are given the opportunity to play in vertical mode, meaning you can turn the GBA on its side and play like that. It’s a bit hard to do at first, but it’s something a bit different to add to the varied game play. Fans of these games should definitely buy this game, especially if you’re looking for a good handheld puzzle game.
