This game will appeal to anyone who enjoys games like Crash Bandicoot or Spyro. Trueth be told, I bought it for my 4 year old, and he does enjoy it, until a few levels in and it starts getting to hard for him. So then my wife picks up the controller and she totally gets into it! Now she is the type who plays games like Crash and various puzzle games. She would be what I refer to as, the "other" class of gamers. By "other" I mean, people who play puzzle and strategy games because they aren't confident or feel like they're good enough to get into some of the more 'hardcore' games. But any platform gamers would enjoy a crack at this one.

You are the cat. The house is a mess, the cat's magic box has leaked out magic all over the house and its time to clean it all up. Worst of all you have mom's boyfriend causing trouble for you all throughout the game. You have the ability to jump, double jump and use your umbrella to coast in mid air for a few seconds. Of coarse all of these functions can be used to avoid certain death when it comes to making mistakes and serves it purpose thru the game. Now, you are not flying blind on this. Everytime you reach an area of a stage where a new skill must be used to pass furthur on, you will find the "fish" there to help you. When you see him, simply talk to him and he will tell you exactly how do to the task that is ahead of you. When it comes down to attacks, the cat will fire a bubble from his umbrella to trap most enemies, which then can be used as a weapon to be shot at enemies of the same kind. Or the trapped enemies can be used on the "thing" characters to get them to release the keys to unlock bonus areas of each stage. There is more you will have to do with these bubbles, but this will all be discovered as you go along in the game. Your health is represented by a cupcake. When you take a hit, a portion of the cake "usually a quarter of it" will disappear. During the begining stages of the game, expect to find several pieces and whole cupcakes around to bring your health back up. Of coarse, they will become fewer the further into you get.

It also has its challenges by have to collect the above mentioned keys from the "things" to unlock the bonus stages within each stage. Getting the keys as you go furthur in becomes more and more difficult. This is, again, only to unlock the bonus areas and is not vital to completing each stage.

Now, one problem I found with the game is that you will be doing the alot of repetitive tasks to complete each level. They involve primarily, jumping around, trapping and shooting off your bubbles. Bit don't get me wrong, there are boss levels you will reach and the bonus stages will add some spice to the mix.

Another thing I found is that some levels are very long. But the game will save your progress when you have reached what the game calls a "checkpoint". This will help if your character dies midway throughout a level and like most games are placed before or after a difficult task must be completed. Again, the further you go into the game the fewer of these checkpoints you will see. Once all of your lives have been depleted, you will be forced to restart the level completely.

Overall the graphics are great and the Cat has snappy comments to say all throughout the game that even got me smiling a few times. Is this a kids game? Hard to say, if you are looking for a beginner game for your child, then based on experience, I would say no. For a kid with some experience in playing and using the game controllers, then yes, if it's the right price, then pick it up. It is definately worth renting. A nice smooth, platform. Good for kids and platform lovers alike. This is my first game review on here and I hope you have found it helpful "and that I didn't screw it up too badly".
