A good game, but not the game i wanted.

User Rating: 8 | Dragon Age: Inquisition PC

First of all, i gotta say i am a true fan of the dragon age series. Dragon age origins is my favorite RPG ever. Dragon age 2 was a great game, but origins was so awesome, that it felt a little bland. Now for dragon age inquisition, it's a great game, but not the game i wanted.

I wanted to give it a 8.5, but a i think a 9.0 it's fair.

I must say that i played this game on nightmare, so somethings here might not be true to other difficulties.

First of all lets talk about the lore. No i'm not gonna spoil something. The world is as greater than ever, you get to explore some exquisite places that feels unique. Forests, swaps, mountains, everything is there, and all is great. The characters came back to being awesome, when dragon age 2 charcters felt a little "meeeh". Talking to them is a delight, and you really come to care about them and their story. The whole world fels alive, and you fell really compelled to explore all of it.

About the combat, is where the game starts to fail. I love action RPG games, but i really, REALLY wanted a tactical RPG like origins. The combat it's not bad, it's actually really good, but it's imperfect. It's really bad to play on the keyboard and mouse, i tried for a few hours and it felt horrible. After talking to my friend about thinking the game was really bad, he said que played on the ps4 and with the controller it was pretty good. And he was right. On the controller the game actually works. The tactical camera is really garbage, it's really close, you can't see the entire battlefield and even giving orders doesn't work properly, so you might trust in your action instincts.

One thing that really annoyed me for the entire game, is the A.I. They took out the possibility to customise your characters behavior. "Ok you might think, they take it out but the A.I must be pretty awesome". It is not. It's terrible. They behave in the most stupid ways, they do everything wrong, and it's really annoying.

It's a bioware game, so you got choices, and they impact the story in the good old bioware way. The problem is, your party approval doesn't seem to impact that much. So you just do what you want, and you don't really care if they approve or not.

Now the game is called Dragon age, so finally we got a lot of dragons. The dragon fights are a wonder, they are fearsome, big and powerfull. Yes you can exploit the tempest bug and kill them quickly (if you want to know what this is google it ;D) but they are really intense and rewarding. Killing a dragon makes you feel powerfull, as it should.

Another problem with the game is the equipment. They are really mediocre. You don't have that ultra legendary set, that you got piece by piece, making a difficult quest to complet it. Your best choice to great equipments is crafting. At least crafting is really well implemented.

After 90 or so hours I really felt that it was a great game, but the ending (if you are overpowered like i was) it's really fast.

Overall it's a great game, but i really wanted a RPG game, and I got a action one. I don't think that a little more time in the oven would make it better. It's a great game, between dragon age origins and dragon age 2 and really worth your money. Its 100 hours long if you want to do most of it.
