If you want to get Dragon Age: Origins, you best get it's Ultimate Edition. (WARNING SPOILERS)
10/10
Dragon age origins is the best rpg that I ever played, it is really expansive, and long. The dragon age universe is very believable and realistic. The main point of this game is to kill the archdemon and get rid of the blight.
You start off the game by creating your character, by gender, race and one of six unique origins story. Afterwards something bad happens in all six and your recrewted into the Grey Wardens; group of skilled warriors sworn to protect the land against the blight.
The graphics in this game are definitely the best out there, but I've seen loads of idiots that say that dragon age origins has graphics equal to games of the 90's. Obviously they never played a game from the 90's or seen one because if this game were to be released in the 90's it would be considered very high tech for a game.
In this game you can have PG-13 romance (Sex) with clothes on. Although it is a little satisfying to see your character have sex with another character in the game that you got really close to. There is a downloadable MOD however that can take the clothes off the female character that you can download off the Bioware social network.
Game play in this game is nice, has good camera angles, and controls will probably need some getting used to. I will admit that I had a little trouble with the controls at first.
Pros: JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING
Cons: Graphics aren't the best out there.
Overall, this is an awesome RPG with a huge replay value and I would recommend it to anybody. Please comment me if you have any questions.
Dragon Age: Origins: Awakening
9/10
DAO: Awakening starts off at a Grey Warden fortress; Vigil's Keep in Amaranthine, ten years after the Blight. You later find it under attack by an organized hoard of Darkspawn. You mow through the darkspawn, and later find out who is leading the; a Darkspawn who talks! You then kill him and your adventure begins.
DAO: Awakening is a lengthy expansion; around 10-15 hours of gameplay, but definitely not as long as the original. Bioware says that there'll be 500 new items, most of which you'll never use. There are also new enemies and characters. Oghren is also back, and as wise cracking as ever.
Gameplay is completely unchanged.
Graphics are mostly unchanged (I think I noticed a little better blood animation).
Voice acting is still as excellent as ever.
So, if you liked the original DAO, definitely buy this game.
Pros: More Dragon Age!
Cons: Short and not as in depth as the original campain.
Dragon Age: Origins - The Stone Prisoner
8/10
Dragon Age: Origins The Stone Prisoner is a great is a worth playing add-on. It gives you a nice new character, Shale, a golem who loves to kill, and squish things, and also loves to call you "It". You will also later find out that Shale is a female. Along with this new character, there are many new items to pick up, although they aren't particularly useful, it feels good to get some new things. Towards the end, you have a choice to save a villager's daughter by solving a very frustrating mini game, but it is worth it in the end because you won't feel guilty. Overall, This is a nicely done add-on (DLC) that will give you some great experiences, and Shale
Pros: Shale, a helmet that you find, saving the villager's daughter, and overall gameplay.
Cons: short, and some of the items that you pick up aren't very useful.
Dragon Age: Origins - Warden's Keep
8/10
Dragon Age: Origins- Warden's Keep is a very well made DLC that gives you some of the most detailed enviorments in the Dragon Age game.
You first meet up with a fellow at your camp that knew Duncan and wants to make-better his family name. As you go through Soldier's Piek, you begin to find out why the guy's family got a bad name.
Your main enemy in this DLC are the undead and demons. They will be littered all over the keep and really fit, considering the storyline of the place.
It's really cool how Bioware makes everything have a story, even the boots on your feet.
I'm sure that anybody who downloads this downloadable content will really enjoy it and probally use the Warden Commander Armor that you'll obtain through out the rest of the campain. It's way better than King Cailan's Armor, and way better looking. HAVE FUN!!
Dragon Age: Origins - Return to Ostagar
7/10
This was a truly sad DLC. You see all your companions dead, King Cailan's body is desegrated and Duncan's body is never found...
While going through this DLC, you start to discover a$shole Darkspawn that have jacked Cailan's armor. Your main mission in this DLC is to retrieve all the pieces of King Cailan's armor and kill the Darkspawn Emissary that continually harasses you throughout the game. You can also pick-up Duncan's sword and dagger, that arn't totally powerful but are pretty useful at killing Darkspawn.
Dragon Age: Origins - Leliana's Song
7.5/10
Dragon Age: Origins- Leliana's song was a great DLC that shows Leliana's past as a bard and how she became a Lay Sister of the Chantry. The bad part is that it cuts short.
Gameplay is basically unchanged, but the conversation and dialogue is greatly improved. Instead of Leliana being mute like your Warden in the original campaign, she talks when you select a dialogue and even acts and shows emotion. The best emotion that you probably saw from your Warden in conversation was a sad or angry face.
Leliana is of coarse a rogue when you play as her (being a Bard and all), and is a master a the two sword abilities. Unfortunately, there are no new specializations or talents like in Awakening, which is a real downer... The final boss fight is like Gamespot said, nothing special but tough.
Overall, this was a good DLC that shows the past of Leliana. This will be an especially good DLC for those who have Leliana as there love interest.
Pros: New armor, new weapons, new conversation system (kind of like Mass Effect 2), and shows the secret life as an Orlesian Bard
Cons: Final boss is nothing special, you only have a three companion party limit, Tug dies, and the game cuts short.
Dragon Age: Origins - Golems of Amgarrak
8/10
Dragon Age: Origins- Golems of Amgarrak is a great add-on that (once again) cuts short. All you really have to do is unlock two of the 3 or 4 rooms and kill the harvester.
The storyline is pretty in-depth and makes sense; you get a letter from a Dwarf in Orzammar, go to deep roads to find Dwarf's brother, find that something is wrong, and finally kill the final boss that you of coarse don't know what the hell it is.
There are very few new items and enemies. Graphics are around the same, just a few minor, minor improvements. The golem and Snugg will also only die once so pay special attention to their health or make them immortal.
The final boss is what made me give Golems of Amgarrak an eight. Once you unlock the red room, you go down a flight of stairs and find a hunk of meat lying on the ground. The "head" of the harvester crawls and uses the hunk of meat as a host. once you defeat the "body" harvester, you must then kill the head and the main boss. It takes a while considering that the harvester has high HP and you have loads of undead attacking you all at once.
Overall, this is a short but interesting DLC that is worth playing and is very entertaining.
Dragon Age: Origins - Witch Hunt
7.5/10
DAO Witch Hunt is the final story of your Grey Warden as he hunts to track down Morrigan. You go through out a bunch of familiar places, etc. and get new items that you can't really use. In the end, Witch hunt is a worthy DLC if you got it in the Ultimmate Edition.
Pros: More Dragon Age
Cons: short, and new items that you will find are mostly all junk...
