Dragon Age brings you an engaging story with tons of content that will keep you playing for hours on end...
If you are looking for a deeply engaging storyline with the "choose your own adventure rpg' feel, this is the game for you. The sheer amount of content available here can have you playing for potentially hundreds of hours if you so choose. It took me a good 75 hours for one playthrough without stopping for a lot of talking or extras. The story revolves around one of several character choices being adopted into the world of the ill numbered knights battling against the plethora of dark spawn in a beautiful, expansive world.
The voice acting here is top notch. If you're looking for stellar graphics, extremely satisfying battles, and action-packed cut scenes, this may not be the game for you. There is a lot of time used for detailed stories, "get-to-know-your-NPC's," and exploration. While the fighting/spellcasting/transforming/killing is happening frequently and a lot of fun, the mechanics are quite simple, slightly lacking in visual quality, and may leave you desiring just a little bit more. You rarely fight alone as you are paired with several NPC's in teams of up to 4 that quickly become playable. I liked the fun of having a rogue for the walkthrough, yet being able to build up and PLAY AS the toons that join the party of several different races/classes. The quality and variety of enemies presented here is quite surprising in a great way.
It took me a good 4 hours of play to figure out all the mechanics of spells, stats, skills, trades, etc., it was fun. I would highly recommend picking up the game guide for this one as the amount of content and directional maps are of utmost importance in creating your favorite tactical build.
I have no doubt that there will be several add-ons to this over the next few years.
Again, grab it now if you want an epic, immersive rpg with great voice acting and storytelling that will have you playing for months. Replay value is very high as there are so many options. Stray toward another game if you want stellar graphics and extremely satisfying video and action sequences.
