Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk... and a little action thrown in. That about sums it up. Now don't get me wrong, the action is excellent. Pausable, real-time action lends itself to strategy. And the friendly AI is customizable and good. There are varied spells, multiple classes, lots of monster types. It really has the makings of a good game. Unfortunately, you spend a lot of time walking from here to there, relaying messages, talking to demons.... yes, talking to them. Although I enjoy a well crafted story, BioWare has lost the bubble. They've tried to make a graphic novel.
I was very excited when I heard this was a Baldurs Gate successor. Hogwash - I was never so bored in BG. The graphics aren't as bad as people make them out to be, but understand this - the commercials and cut scenes are no where near the gameplay. The acting is reasonable. The controls are quite good. Its just too bad they made a boring game.
