When I first learned about this game, and that Bioware was behind it, I instantly believed it was going to be great. I was so pumped for this game. But, to be honest, as much as I want to like this game... it isn't very good. Sure the voice acting is good, as well as the story. But the boring gameplay and TERRIBLE graphics ruin the experience. Th graphics are what really let me down. The world doesnt seem real at all. All of the missions the path is layed out for you, it looks very unnatural. In the forest there just happens to be cliffs on either side of you leading you in the exact direction?... yeah that was a huge letdown. Another thing that really bothered me, but isn't a big deal in the large scheme of things, was the oversized and blocky weapons. The bows on the elves backs look retarted. And some of the swords look just plain stupid.
I was expecting this game to have graphics similar to ac2, and a world that doesnt look as if the levels were put there. It needs to feel more real in order to really draw me in. I think it is ridiculous that the graphics were this bad when obviously they were capable of being at the same caliber as ac2. Really that is the only flaw. Great voice acting, great story, but the game needs to feel more real to me. The graphics need to be greatly improved, and the world could be a little bit more realistic, it would make the game much deeper and involving.
So, overall, I was pretty dissapointed. I really wanted to like this game, but.... hey at least we have mass effect 2 coming soon. Hopefully that wont be a letdown as well.
